We hardly know any photos about the persecution of the Jews in Hungary, a series of events that took place in the public eye. Nonetheless, photography was a widely accepted hobby of the middle class; many owned cameras and took pictures even during wartime. There are shockingly few, only a few dozens of photos through which we can introduce the events. Moreover, not even the existing ones are available publicly or widely known. In addition to that, they are also rather repetitive, which makes them lose their original impact. Our online archive, which leans on primary resources, provides a deeper understanding of the period.
