Vision of Jewish Youth about the Community

About this project

'The Vision of Jewish Youth about the Community' was a three-part forum series where Jewish youth organizations and representatives of community organizations, programs, and projects that work with or for young people could think collectively about the dilemmas, challenges, and opportunities of the Jewish community. In addition to general questions, professional subjects related to their organizations were discussed and debated. In the first forum, the participants defined common strategic areas they would deal with during the following occasions. Accordingly, the topic of the second forum was communication, while fundraising and outreach of the third one. Participants could learn about these topics from subject matter experts in lectures, workshops, panel discussions, and joint discussions.

Why is it important?

Why is it important?

In the Jewish community discourse, there is little room for nonprofit organizations and even more so for organizations that deal with the youth or youth organizations. Having no opportunity to cooperate and meet, these organizations often feel isolated from each other, thus limiting their chance for collective thinking and cooperation. This forum series was created with the long-term goal to jump-start an ongoing dialogue among young leaders.

Why is it special?

Why is it special?

The forum has managed to create an unprecedentedly diverse platform where not only organizations that had been working together on youth issues took part but other organizations with very different backgrounds, missions, and activities. This diversity ensured that the identified and discussed strategic areas respond to the needs of the community in the broadest sense. Participating organizations: Atid, BBYO, Hanoar Hatzioni, Hashomer Hatzair, Haver Foundation, Hillel Hungary, Marom, MINYanim Program, Moishe House, Talmud NOW, Tikkun Olam Group.
